The Charlotte Business Journal Corporate Volunteerism Awards recognizes companies either headquartered or located in Charlotte that perform exceptional acts of philanthropy for the city in areas such as Improving Our Schools, Volunteer Spirit, Outstanding Partnership, Sustainable Communities, and Most Outstanding Company Project. ImagineSoftware was selected as one of three finalists in the Corporate Volunteerism Program category for Imagine Gives, an internal charitable initiative that provides Imagine employees with the opportunity to support their community through volunteering at various organizations within the Charlotte area. The Charlotte Business Journal featured the company as a finalist in its September 24, 2010 edition of the journal.
The Imagine team gives both time and financial support to Imagine Gives service initiatives and has helped a variety of local organizations, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, Birthday Blessings, Hospitality House of Charlotte, St. Peter’s Soup Kitchen, and Thompson Child and Family Focus, among others. The Imagine Gives newsletter is released to the company at the beginning of each quarter and showcases upcoming service projects that are available for participation. Employees submit a vote for their project of choice for that quarter, with a total of four projects throughout each year. In 2010, the Imagine Gives program was expanded to encompass 10 different volunteer efforts during the year in celebration of Imagine’s 10-year anniversary. Involvement with the Imagine Gives program is not mandatory, but encouraged, with high levels of employee participation for each project.
